Stretch marks are scarring lesions that appear in areas of the body that have undergone excessive stretching of the skin, to the point of causing the breakup of collagen and elastin fibers, which are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Stretch marks have different stages, the initial stage being identified by a more reddish appearance and, in the final stage, by a more whitish appearance. Both types can be treated by Fotona’s LineLase.

LineLase is an effective and safe laser treatment designed specifically for the treatment of stretch marks. The procedure is suitable for all skin types and can improve the appearance, relief and flexibility of the scar tissue. Therefore, LineLase is able to smooth and flatten stretch marks, improving the overall appearance of the skin.

Treatment - LineLase

LineLase is a Fotona Laser procedure that is done in 2 steps, the SMOOTH mode and the ablative resurfacing.

The first stage consists of applying the Laser in SMOOTH mode, a mode that promotes intense and controlled heating of the superficial tissue. This heating is responsible for stimulating collagen production and its function is to improve sagging and promote more elasticity of the skin in the treated area.

The second stage consists of applying ablative resurfacing, which consists of removing the skin. This function works on the characteristics of stretch marks, reducing imperfections and standardizing the color.

LineLase: what do you need to know about this procedure?

Linelase is a non-invasive laser procedure that takes about 30 to 45 minutes to perform. It causes no downtime or discomfort, allowing the patient to carry on with their daily routine as normal.

As a rule, three or more sessions are necessary for a significant reduction of stretch marks, and if treatment is started in the phase when the stretch marks are still red, it is possible to achieve an almost total reduction of them.

Although the patient immediately notices an improvement in the quality of the skin, the final results of LineLase are only seen after 2 or 3 months, a period in which the body reaches the period of greatest collagen biostimulation.

Common questions

The value of the procedure depends on each case, taking into account several factors such as the extent of stretch marks and the number of areas to be treated. Therefore, the ideal is to book an evaluation consultation to define personalized treatment plans and budget.

After the treatment, there is an immediate improvement in the skin. However, this is not the end result. As a rule, the final results of LineLase are seen after 3 months after the last treatment session.

The treatment can be carried out in patients in the adult stage, and is usually indicated after 18 years of age.

All people react differently. However, a gradual warming sensation is common - and after a few minutes you may feel some warmer spots in the treated area -, which disappears very quickly.

No, the treatment is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure. Therefore, patients do not require a recovery period.
